E282 Dear Graduate: On behalf of the members of the Alumni Association I want to congratulate you on your graduation from Salem State College. That degree you have earned from Salem State is the key that opens the door to new beginnings professionally. We trust that your future contains much happiness and success--both personally and professionally. We welcome you to share part of that future with us as lifelong members of the Salem State College Alumni Association. The Association numbers over 20,000 alumni, many of whom are active participants in our alumni programs. These programs include the traditional Alumni Weekend in the Spring and Homecoming Weekend in the Fall. Five year class reunions often are planned around those weekend dates but can also be held at anytime throughout the year. Additional program offerings include seminars and workshops centered on self-improvement and special interest topics, career advice, as well as just plain fun socials. To be kept abreast of all of our activities, we urge you to keep us informed of all address changes beginning this graduation year. We encourage you to visit Alumni House anytime you find yourself in the area. Please plan to join us. Your active participation and support are both needed and welcomed. Good luck. Sincerely, JW? gr. George '53 President, Alumni Association JLG:dmb 241 D D CATIO The recipient of the yearbook dedication is supposed to be an individual or group that has demonstrated service and involvement with the students. This years dedication is given to a group that has without question done so. ldon 't think that there is anyone or any group that is more involved and concerned with serving the college community than the Pro- gram Council. Program Council directly serves the students and the college through coordinatorships. These coordinatorship and sample programs of i985 are: Film - Rocky Horror, Macbeth, Harold and Maude Video - Video Rock Concerts Pubnight - The Nails Clipper - Yearbook Winfisky Art Gallery - Linda Weinbaum, Faculty exhibit Freshman Class Sophmore Class Gong Show Junior Class Senior Classf Week - Countdown Party - Senior Week Lecture and Forum - Eugene McCarthy Jerry Rubin vs. Abbie Hoffman New Concepts - Comedy Night and Halloween Rock Scarborough Fair - Chuck Mitchell, Andy May Performing Arts - Stromberg and Cooper Recreation - Ski Trip Arts and Crafts - Craftspeople in Residence Day Programming - Roving Magicians and Steve Baird Student Ad - Weekly Program Council Ads in Log Arts Festival - Carolan Duo, visiting Artisans Concert - Romeo Void, Harry Anderson All of these positions are of course held by students. A student holding one of these positions, learns leadership and responsibility and while they are doing that the rest of us are being informed, enlightened, enlivened, and entertained. Therefore, the l985 Clipper staff and dedication committee, would like to congratulate the Program Council. THE l985 PROGRAM COUNCIL ,A-I 'Ji it .ff..Ng,., , H , ., . A..1 . , , 9 .
