Salem State's fourth-place finish in a tight MASCAC meet was some- what of a disappointment. Additionally, an attempt was made at starting a womenfs cross country team at Salem State. Two women actually competed, and one, Clare Murnane, finished 36th out of over 200 entrants at the NCAA Division III Qualifying meet.
