Salem State lost just four individual matches in seven MASCAC games, shutting out four league opponents. lt was the ninth time in 12 years that Salem State has won the MASCAC tennis title. Salem State's fourth-place finish in a tight MASCAC meet was some- what of a disappointment. Additionally, an attempt was made at starting a womenfs cross country team at Salem State. Two women actually competed, and one, Clare Murnane, finished 36th out of over 200 entrants at the NCAA Division III Qualifying meet.

The wom- en lost just 6 individual matches while going unde- feated K7-0l in league play. Salem State also did well against a strong non-league schedule, finishing 11-3 overall.
