MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT With pleasure I write these words of congratulation and best wishes to the Class of1969. Each ofyou has personally experienced in the past four years the drawing-out ofyourpotentialities, and the deepening ofyour interest in learning, and the acquiring of basic knowledge to be applied in your careers in teaching, in business, or in graduate school. Yours has been the opportunity to be part of the college generation at Salem to benejqt from the diversithcation ofdegree programs, the expansion offacilities, and the addition ofscholarly faculty. Aiming to give better educational opportunities to more young men and women with the ability to achieve academic success, it is my hope that you will be successful in the years ahead, that you will continue throughout your lives to pursue learning, and that you will hold Salem State College as a positive and effective force in your youthful development. As you become alumni ofSalem State College, a new opportunity comes to you. By being active supporters of the College as alumni, you can give those who follow you apriceless gift. Your success as educated men and women, coupled with your loyalty to alma mater, will insure the future ofSalem State College. The future of the College depends upon not only the efforts of the students and faculty during a four-year period, but equally upon the loyalty and support of the graduates. Return often to the College, keep the friendships you have made here, help S.S.C. to achieve new and better programs at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, and offer tangible support to the programs of the Alumni Association. Alma Mater welcomes new sons and daughters as the Class of 1969 becomes the youngest of the one hundred jqfteen year old Alumni.
