fconttnued from page l4j for the F B I She had come to Reno to check on a big gambler s rncome tax statements She also told us that three other members of that wonderful class of 56 were l1v1ng in Reno Grace Martin was the receptionist that helped you plan your trips at the Reno office of United Airways Corporation Julia Lauer was very busy as the wife of the owner of the Great Drvrde Motel Marilyn O le was married to a Uranium prospector who had just sold one of hrs claims for a m1l lion and a hal dollars As we sat there talking and gazrng around the piano and guitar player looked famillar Golng over to the band which was playrng You Wore a Tulip we saw that the piano player was once our classmate Donnie Myers Soft sweet music was coming from a guitar played by Gary Haas The next morning when we ot up there was a paper under our door So we picked rt up and started to read it We were loo ing through the pa es when we came to the sports page The sports column was written by Dale Barth We wondered 1 it could be the same fellow we went to school with So we went down to the newspaper office to see him And sure enough tt was He took us to lunch we talked over old times and after lunch Carol and I went on to our next destination Our next stop was Las Vegas Nevada When we got there we decided we would like to go to a night club srnce we had never been to one After we rented a hotel room and relaxed we went to a mght club on 42nd Street After reachtng our table we saw a small orchestra Carol and I were lookin at the orchestra and saw a trumpet player who looked like Ronnie Hall After the or chestra finrs ed playing this number a girl came out to s1ng a song When she started to sing we we went back to talk to Ronnie and Leona F1n1sh1ng our talk we went back to our table The next act we saw was a b1cycle act And who should be riding the bicycle but Frank Swarn After his act we went back to our hotel room The next day we left early for Los Angeles California As we were driving through Los Angeles we saw posters everywhere advertrstng the big trapeze act wrth the Ringlin Brothers Circus Carol suggested that we go and see this act Upon arriving at the circus we trre our luck at knocking over coke bottles but without much success After spending all of our money except the price of adm1ss1on into the big top we purchased our trckets and went to our seats Just as we sat down the band started to play and the master of ceremonies came out and announced the feature attraction of the evening which was to take place on the high wire Following the beam of the spot light as tt pierced it s way into the heights of the tent we spted two figures perched upon platforms 00 feet in the arr We could not drstingursh who they were but they were wearing trapeze outfits which mostly consisted of ostrich plumes 'md expensive Jewels With a roll of the drums the grrls grasped the swinging bars and while suspended rn mid air they turned tuple somersaults got the other swing ing bar and returned to the opposite platform Whrle the crowd roared rm approval the girls swung down to the ground and we recognized them as Opal Forshey and Barbara Davis our classmates After their performance they offered to take us out to dinner at the Stork Club rn Hollywood After a wonderful dinner we sa1d good by to Barb and Opal The next morning we went to the Catalina Swrmmmg Suit Company to see about the modeling job which they had offered to Carol and me Ruth and Carol , , . , .
