As Captain and Quarterback of the Team Ramie displayed leadership of highest type. ln spite of the fact that he was handicapped with bad ankles most of the season, Ramie, by his grit and determination, played a fine brand of Football the whole season, being one of the best broken field runners in the State. Second year Varsity. Good prospect next year. sH sv APPY FISHER ....................................... ...... G uard Weight, 145 lbs. Height, 5 ft., 6 in. Happy, by hard work, landed a place on the Varsity this year. He is a steady player both on the defense and offense. He is exceptionally good at opening up holes for the backs. First year Varsity. Next year prospect. CHANH MARTIN .......................,........... . ......, Guard Weight, I55 lbs. Height, 6 ft., 2 in. Chan was one of the players who had the never say die spirit. He proved a stumbling block for the opposing backs, his motto being, They Shall not Pass. Chan's place will be a hard one to fill. First year Varsity. Lost by graduation. C-IT CHELF ............................................. . . .End Weight, l36 lbs. Height, 5 ft., 9 in. Crit was one of the hardest workers on the Team and always put out his best in a game. Clit was noted for breaking through the interference and getting the tackle. First year Varsity. T Lost by graduation. Zio BOARD ...................................... . ...End Weight, I35 lbs. Height, 5 ft., 9 in. Zig is a dependable player, has lots of grit and is a good tackles. He can swing on to a pass at any angle. We regret that he graduates this year. Second year Varsity. Lost by graduation. 4 liED VEST ................... .............................. C enter Weight, l55 lbs. Height, 5 ft., ll in. Red had the ability of breaking up plays behind'the opposing line. He was a sure and accu rate passer. Red proved to be a match for them all. Second year Varsity. Lost by graduation. MAMA RoB1NsoN ................................. .... H alfbaek Weight, ISI lbs. Height, 5 ft., I0 in. Mama started the season in a tackle but owing to his speed and ability to gain ground was shifted to the backfield. Although this was Bob's first year on the High School Team, he proved to be a hard plunging back. Bob was out of the game in the middle of the season with a broken hand, but came back and made good. First year Varsity. Next year prospect. UFLYH WILBOURNE .......................................... Halfback Weight, 148 lbs. Height, 5 ft., 8 in. Fly, a newcomer to S. H. S., proved to be the sensation of the Team. He was a deadly taclrler and a wonderful broken field runner. As next year's captain, we expect great things of him. First year Varsity. Next year prospect. ALDERSON SHUFFLEBARGER .... .......................... . . . .Halfback Weight, 135 lbs. Height, 5 ft., 7 in. Shuttle was a good defensive player, being a sure tackler. He was good at receiving passes and carried the ball well. This year's experience will make him a valuable player next year. First year Varsity. Next year prospect. HCHARLIEH SHERERTZ ............................... ........ F ullbaek Weight, l55 lbs. Height, 5 ft., 8 in. Charlie was a plunging fullback who seldom failed to open up a hole on the offensive and who backed up the line in great style when on defense. Second year Varsity. Next yearprospect. PAUL COPENHAVER ........................................ . . .End Weight, l23 lbs. Height, 5 ft., 6 in. Cope's worl: was extremely good at all times. Although the smallest man on the team, there were very few gains around his end. He was especially good at downing the man behind the line. Second year Varsity. Next year prospect. MoR'roN SHROPSHIRE .............................. . ...Tackle Weight, l5I lbs. Height, 5 ft., ll in. Although Shrop didn't play in the lirst three games, after he got started he played a good hard game. If any one doubts his hard tackling, ask the Virginia Tecl: Freshmen. First year Varsity. Next year prospect. NPOEYH GOLDSMITH .......................................... Tackle p Weight, l50 lbs. Height, 5 ft., ll in. Popey proved a good running mate for Shrop.
