Chairman of Membership Committee It ain't the individual Nor the army as a whole, But the everlasting team work Of every blooming soul. The Girls' Club of Salem High School has proven a great success this year under the advisership of Miss Butler and Miss Rice. Miss Walker, Secretary of the Girls' Club, both of Roanoke and Salem, has also rendered valuable assistance. The Club has done much World Fellowship work. It has upheld faithfully the three sides of the Girl Reserve triangle-the spiritual, the physical and the intellectualg and has worked in every way to increase school spirit. The Club has had several social functions, the first one being a banquet for the football boys. On the second Tuesday in February a Valentine reception was given in honor of the mothers of the Club girls. This event was of great pleasure, as well as profit. An Easter Service for girls was also had. And the last affair of the year was a Farewell Party for the Seniors of the Club who will be much missed next year. F661

Nl. C. A., which would bring the boys closer together, encourage and direct them in the formation of Christian characters, and in the development of useful activities in the school and community. We have at last achieved the goal toward which the school has been working. The present Hi-Y Club of S. H. S. is the outcome of Southwest Virginia older Boys' Conference, held November, l922, under the auspices of the Y. M. C. A. of Roanoke. The Club has been actively in effect since December I, I922, and we are expecting great achievements from the organization as it stands to-day, and from those who will compose it in future years.
