Virginia H 'Tis well io be merry, willy and wise. During Letcher's four years at S. H, S. he has amassed quite a vocabulary in English as well as in French. We are often startled by his verbal lluency and strange jumble of words. His ever ready wit has proven to be the salvation of his classmates in many trying times. Buzz is always busy, although his undertakings are usually petit. We do not know what Letcher expects to do, but if he takes as much interest in his life's worlc as he does in carrying papers on Broad Street we know he will have a successful future. Truly lVlabel's hair is bright, but the lamp of knowledge shines with such a gleam upon her brow as to dim even the lilmy brilliance of her crown of glory. Mabel is always ready to take part in all school activities. Her bright disposition has won her many friends. Her fate is not clear. Such a stuclent as she surely ought to continue at some line college and take her degree. What she will do still remains in obscurity, as all prophecies. She can always see the humorous side of all our difficult situations. This blue-eyed, light-haired maiden has an interesting future before her. Mary has been with us only this term, but in that time she has proven herself at useful asset to the Class of '23. She joined our ranks from Radford High School. We are only sorry that we have not had her with us during our four years of High School career. We are sure that her combination of dark hair and blue eyes will prove fateful to some fortunate young man. C272

At leasl, in four years, we could not find them out. Vesta is a valuable and faithful member of the Class of '23, One must really know Vesta before one can love her, for her nature is deep. She is one of those rare people who has a pleasant smile for every one and her sweet disposition has held our love and friendship through- out our high school days. Joe is one of those odd combinations of good humor and good brains so hard to find and so pleasant to meet. What would our Class have done without him? As Class Treasurer, he excels all and his management of the store shows what a good business brain he has. joe has shown theatrical ability, also. He is an all-round good fellow and we wish him success.
