A wise old professor under whom I studied philosophy used to interrupt the regular work once in a while to give his students some advice, and I pass his wisdom along to you. It was always the same advice, Beware, he used to warn us, of the fatal facility of youth. By facility he meant the quick and easy way. He called it fatal because it leads to failure or to shortened and trivial goals. They require strength of purpose and steady striving from day to day, from year to year, before they are reached. Today ' s world will present you with difficult problems, but also with many opportunities. To solve these problems and to make the most of these opportunities will call for determination and endurance.
