e, the graduating class of 1939, wish to express our heart- felt gratitude to Principal James F. Day, to Vice-Principal James J. Murray, and to the members of the faculty, whose splendid cooperation and untiring efforts have made it possible for us to secure such an excellent start in life. We hope that we have lived up to the high standards which the preceding graduating classes of Salem High School have set. We, the class of 1939 have earnestly endeavored to set for the graduating classes following us, an ideal of school spirit worthy of the traditions of our beloved school.
