Dedicated Teacher Of The Year This year the staff decided to add a new page to the yearbook. Each year the year- book will be dedicated to a teacher who has taught for at least ten years, is involved in school and civic activities, and genuinely cares for the students. 1 am proud to an- nounce this year's deserving teacher: Mrs. Mary Alice Cozza. Mrs. Cozza is the fourth child of Charles and Gladys Gause. She and her two brothers and two sisters grew up in Hanoverton and graduated from United Local High School. She attended Kent State University and re- ceived her bachelor's degree in home eco- nomics education. In 1962, she married her high school sweetheart and became Mrs. Frank Cozza. Mr. and Mrs. Cozza have three sons: Craig (20), Matthew (19), and Frank W). Mrs. Cozza is very enthusistic, full of energy, and a very active lady. She has taught family living at Salem for 17 years. She is also in- volved in the drug intervention program, senior class advisor, a member of the Chemi- cal People Task Force, United Local PTO member. United Local Board of Education member, Vice-President of the Columbiana County Joint Vocational School Board of Edu- cation, and an active member of the St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. If she can find some free time, Mrs. Cozza enjoys snow skiing, biking, swimming, relax- ing under the sun, and spending time with her close-knit family. For your hard work, dedication, and caring for others, the (984 Quaker Yearbook Staff would like to say, thank-you. When Mrs. Cozza was asked, Do you like teaching? She replied, Definitely. She really enjoys the students, especially the seniors because they are mature enough to handle all topics. She also tries to help the students with any problems they may have. A truly remarkable person. 7
