Seniors Study Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales The course of study in English IV contained a major emphasis on literature and the development of English drama. The Greek tragedy ANTIGONE, the epic poem BEOWULF, the CANTERBURY TALES with students doing individual projects, and Shakespeare's MACBETH were studied thoroughly. A unit in the process of writing a term paper was also included. ABOVE AND BELOW: Projects for CAN TERBURY TALES included cakes, posters, poems, drawings, figures dressed as characters, and construction of various weapons and housing related to the Medieval period. 201

iN 200 Creative Writing is Studied in English II The course of study in Junior English included a chronological study of the development of American Literature and a study of select short stories. Major emphasis was placed on the study of good sentence structure, paragraph construction and composition creative writing, Word analogies were also included in the course of study as preparation for students planning to take the PSAT.
