Varsity Cheerleaders perform the ''Twelve Years of School ’ for their candy sale skit. In the background are prizes students competed for during the sale. (contd. from pg. 138) The high salesman at the end of the drive was Carol Buchanan. She received a black and white T.V. for her $150.00 effort. The second place winner was Becky Ramsey with $129.00. Her prize was a portable radio. Tied for third place were Denise Mull and Freddy Smith, both winning clock radios. The Senior Class sold $15.00 per person and won the challenge between the Freshman and Senior Classes. They wete treated with a Coke par ty preceding the candy sale. Freshmen Begin With Grammar Freshman English students covered areas in grammar and literature. Grammar included parts of speech and composition writing. Short stories and a novel with students doing individual projects were taken up in literature. Public speaking was taken up during the spring. 198
