The LYON ’3 2 ..... Girl Reserves Membership in Girl Reserve is open to any girl in Salem High School. There are 140 girls enrolled. During the school year the Girl Reserves, guided by the Cabinet and Advisers, has undertaken and carried through many activities. Some of them are: Joint installation and initiation services. Bi-weekly programs rendered by members and outside talent. Worked with Tri Kappa in Christmas party for needy children. Girl Reserve and Hi-Y sponsored Christmas seal sale in S. H. S. Visited “shut-in”. Aided Red Cross organization in collecting and distributing local charity work. Advisers sponsored Silver Tea, March 22. Sponsored Mother and Daughter Banquet, May 5. This year the club has been increased greatly and now has forty-nine members. The purpose of Hi-Y is to “create, maintain, and extend throughout the school and community high standards of Christian character.” Each year, since the organization of Hi-Y, it has sponsored the Father and Son Banquet.
