2 ance Warathon Jash Mt Jong” The annual Dance Marathon was held on March 23 and 24, 1984. It was once again sponsored by the Student Council. The dancers raised $9,927.37, well over their goal of $9,500.00. The proceeds benefitted the American Red Cross and the American Cancer Society. Music videos were provided for the first time. Instead of choosing one Most Spirited Dancer” for the entire 30 hours, the Student Council got together every three hours to pick a “Most Spirited Dancer.” They were awarded one of the “Top 10” albums. Those winning were Brian Evans, Denise Rankin, Belinda Rogers, Michelle Perry, Heather Waters, Jennifer Shook, Troy Brant, Tim Green, Howard Phillips, and Wes Fitzwater. Out of 111 dancers beginning the marathon, 23 completed the 30 hours. Congratulations to all who participated for making the 1984 Dance Marathon such a success.
