Questions are asked from the edge of the desk, and the classroom in the round investigates the social and cultural aspects of history. A dyed in the green democrat pauses to cook supper for a class, mail Christmas cards to students, send a cake on opening night, and back for stimu- lation prefaced by Actually or Well, quite frankly. . . . Provoking thought and being thought- ful: never too busy for a conference over coffee and never still for a moment— only twenty-four hours in a day. But always there— when and where needed — constantly meeting the challenge and challenging others. For this, the Class of ' 61 dedicates SALEM ' 61 to Dr. Inzer Byers. 18 ,
