MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT Greetings: VVhcit is fhe real value of a college annual? This inquiry is made sincerely and can be made briefly. A college annual as no other book summarizes visibly the year of its publication in terms of student life. This present Salem College annual takes bravely and with vision as its theme Light, and certainly this is a radiant and inspiring theme which will be treasured through all the years to come when- ever SIGHTS AND INSIGHTS 1946 is remembered. Light should be an in reality is the goal of all education just as Light is the sum and substance of all inner life which is clear and pervasive.
