l tw Ir' President Hurley and his family prepare to leave on their CASC tour to promote small colleges. SERVICE . . . President Hurley speaks in behalf of the small colleges of America. The Council for the Advancement of Small Colleges was founded April 1956, by President K. Duane Hurley, who has served as its president for six years. It was established in order to advance quality education by helping its members to do collectively many things which individually they could not do. Basically a service organi- zation, CASC has been composed on the average, of sixty colleges in about thirty states from Maine to Hawaii. Thirty-four of the original fifty-two colleges have received regional accreditation since the founding date. CASC in its six years has held national and regional meetings, and summer workshops. It provides a testing pro- gram, and various forms of consultation. Nu aa:?'.:!,'l l in Q: 01' flu. L. Dr. Hurley tells the student body of his successful CASC tour. TO THE NATIO The tangible results of his work in behalf of small schools is evidenced here as Dr. Hurley receives a check from the Union Carbide and Carbon Co.
