Fifth Grade The fifth grade of 1956-1957 had a derson from Stroh entered their class in the fall. They had a spelling contest, a hike to the woods with refreshments and a Christmas exchange. Sixth Grade Fourteen students were enrolled in the sixth grade during the 1956-1957 school year. The sixth grade students shared a room with the fifth graders, with Mr. Wil- lennar as their instructor. In March, the class took a trip through Kraft's, Puritan's,the library, the city hall, and the dairy of Kendallville. The children enjoyed a visit through the Ke11ogg's and Post's companies of Battle Creek' Michigan In the Spnng' Shown in the picture above are six of the sixth grade students as they get their coats so they can go outdoors in the crisp autumn weather to play. Fourth Grade Birthdays, Ha11owe'en, Christmas, and Va1entine's Day were observed by the fourth grade. The children took a bus trip to the Indiana East-West T011 Road. They en- joyed ice cream at the Gene Stratton Porter service area. When they returned they made a scrapbook which included the Souvenirs of their IMP' ings on the wall were made by fellow students of the third and fourth grades.
