Fre hmen Bob Anderson, Presldent led the Freshman Class nn a very successful year, alded by hrs assustants Marlene Wolverton, Vlce Presxdent, Donna Dee Hmd man, Secretary Treasurer, Joyce Spullman, Socnal Chaur man The Class Advusor was Mr Robert Huston Page 30 On S ptember 21 the Freshmen entered the halls of Salem Academy unaware of the agony which IS the part of all greenhorns before they are really accepted lt was not until October I5 that they were really accepted at the Freshmen lnltlatlon party glven so wlllrngly by the Sophomores The Freshmen havnng survnved thus testing came forth vvlth real punch rn the form of sponsormg what they termed Ragtime Carnival March 3 to honor the Sophomores There were concessxons and movaes popcorn candy and then bountuful refresh ments were served A hularlous tlme was reported by all even Vernon Isaac the clown In May the class enloyed a trlp to the beach Food was taken along and a day of fun was reported Regular class meetmgs were held throughout the year to dlscuss plans for future actlvutles -.tv ' n .
