W. E. Mellown, Jr.—Principal Principal’s Message As the years pass, this yearbook will increase in value to you . As you look back over this book in years to come, there are several things that I hope you will be able to remember about our school. Among these things is our theme for this year-- I Believe. If you can truly say I believe in myself, in my country, in my God, and in my family, you will have a successful and profitable life. I hope that you can remember and say with pride that Saks High School has contributed to your success. There are many other things that you will remember about your years at Saks. Your friends, your teachers, and your social life will long be remembered. Have you ever stopped to think that the way you remember these things will depend largely on you and the way you act and react to what is happening to you from day to day? Just as the value of the yearbook will increase from year to year, so will our appreciation to the annual staff and their sponsor increase over the years. Remember that only you personally and individually can help to make Saks one of Alabama's more outstanding high schools. Sincerely yours, William E. Mellown, Jr. Principal 4
