(u uc en Cjounc The Student Council of Saks School was organized during the school year of 1958-59. The objectives of the council are: (1) To promote a better relationship be- tween students and faculty, (2) To faster worthy school activities, (3) To provide opportunities for student growth and self- direction, (4) To encourage participation in school affairs. The present officers are: Jeff Camp- bell, president; Brenda Heptinstall, vice- president; Linda Vaughan, secretary; and Jackie Wilson, treasurer. Mr. Mellown and Mr. Calvert are Co-sponsors of the Student Council. jrrench (j q ass Saks High School feels very proud to have its first foreign language class, taught this year by Mrs. Joyce Sizemore. The class is composed of students especially interested in foreign language. Much prog- ress has been made in this class and there is hope that this privilege will be extended to more students. c5 cience Gfu£ The Science Club of Saks High School w s organized Oct. 27, 1959. The chief aims of the club are: (1) To focus attention on science, (2) To stimulate interest in science, and (3) To inspire a desire for scientific experimen- tation. Through hard work and a determination to succeed they presented a Marching Band in the fall of ' 60. The band is made up of 6th through 11th grade members. With the majority under the 9th grade. The Wildcat band will really shine by the time these younger members reach high school. DIRECTOR Mr. Bill Veazey
