The members participate in tournaments of debate and speech, as well as student congresses. The speech division included dramatic and humorous declamation, studied and original oratory and extemporaneous speaking. Debate, speech and student con- gresses give the student self-confidence and experience in speaking. They are ready to stand up and protect their country's laws, and to aid in formulating new laws for the good of all. These activities contribute in making not only good speakers and good citizens, but als-o better Catholic leaders as well. The power to speak presupposes the power to think, and only deep thinking individuals are equipped to make important decisions.
