Wacho onor ociefy The Rarlio and TY llonor Society is a lfeileration organization that proviiles sturlents of the Catholic lligh Schools with an opportunity to learn the principles ot' railio and television broadcasting. Such courses as rarlio announcing, acting, writing, directing ancl engineering are offered at this school which is locatetl in Oalclanrl. Along with the program of eclucation the Society also offers many opportunities for acquiring competence through experience. lt has two weekly raclio programs over VVEDO and VVCAN, and a weekly television program over VVQED. lVe feel especially proucl of our own chapter of the Honor Society, for it is the largest and most active. O'Sullivan, R. Milanich, E. Mulholland, D. Eberley, j. DelSole. The Forensic Club has been extremely active and successful. The members participate in tournaments of debate and speech, as well as student congresses. The speech division included dramatic and humorous declamation, studied and original oratory and extemporaneous speaking. Debate, speech and student con- gresses give the student self-confidence and experience in speaking. They are ready to stand up and protect their country's laws, and to aid in formulating new laws for the good of all. These activities contribute in making not only good speakers and good citizens, but als-o better Catholic leaders as well. The power to speak presupposes the power to think, and only deep thinking individuals are equipped to make important decisions.
