Father McLain attempts to guide Sisters Grace Edmund, Annette Marie, and Joseph Antoinette in the correct procedure for guiding freshmen. Sister Michael Patrick look forward to Guidance Department Guidance is the tenn usually used to describe certain services designed to make the educational experience of the leamer effective to a maximum degree. At Aquinas, five important areas of guid- ance services are covered: Personal, Social, Moral, Educational, and Voca- tional. These areas are served by the Guidance Department which is headed by Father McLain, Sister Ida Robertine, and Sister Joan of Arc. Another integral part of guidance at Aquinas is Group Guidance, in which students in a group are given the appor- tunity to seek out and solve their prob- lems. This plan of Group Guidance has been begun with the freshmen and will be enlarged each year. Also every Aquinas student has the opportunity of individual guidance from the counselor of his choice. Em- phasis is placed on the mature prepara- tion for a meaningful life in his school and future life in society. I9
