The French Club, Le Circle Francais, is composed of those 'students who have taken or are taking French. Moderated by Sister Rose Edward, the club meets on the second Tuesday of each month. The officers are Karen Scherr, Presidenty Kathy Dannegger, Vice-President, and Maureen Brown- Secretary. The purpose ofthe French Club is to promote interest in the people, history, and customs of France. Members have French pen pals. Ah diiembly is given each year in which the members present the songs and dances of France. Karen Scherr points out Paris, France, to Kathy Dannegger and Maureen Brown. French Club Nancy Lembeck and Karen Scherr glance over the Singing Nun album. Why aren 't you singing, girls??? German Club Kannst du Deutsch sprechen? What? Kannst du Deutsch spre'chen? ' says anyone of the 46' menbers of the German Club. This new organization is under the direction of Mr, Freeman. They hold their meetings twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, to enable them to hold conversation in German. There are no officers as yet, but they will be elected in the near future. Mr. Freeman hopes one day to establish a credited course in German. German can be learned more rapidly, says Mr. Freeman, through the audiolingual method- hear and repeat. 97

Well, l guess we gooledl Do it over agaln, Drama And Speech Club The Speech and Drama club under the supervision of Sis te r E l ec to Marie, sponsor plays and other productions during the school year. The club is affiliated with CISL and participates in the numerous speech meets held throughout the years. Members are trained for leadership through dramatic and oratorical interpretation, extemporaneous and impromptu speech and debate. They don 't look like they could hurt onyonel But their looks don't mean a thing because Tony Daniele, Scott Palmer, Danny Walsh, and Mike as Fisher represent the judo club. ' xr-I Q a Girls' Athletic Association Now four years old, G.A.A. is an organi- zation open to'all high girls. G.A.A. corqaetes in volleyball toumarnents here at S.T.A. and at other schools. The purposes ot this association are the development ofthe physical, moral, social, and mental individual. 'They practice every Thursday in the gym under the leadership of one of their own members, Mike Fischer. Mr. Burns moderates the club, giving it status as a school-affiliated club. Club members take iudo for the sport of it rather than for any intent to practice it on someone else. However, if danger would arise, the iudo could be put to quick and effective use. Equipment for iudo is not expensive. The club uses the mats in the gym, but provide their own iudo outfits. l
