Dear Students, Some of the objectives of Catholic secondary education are intellectual, moral, physical, and social development. To this list I would like to add another goal for students of St. Thomas Aquinas High School. I would like to believe that every stu- dent has learned sensitivity for others. This would include an awareness of others needs and problems and a burning desire to correct injustices, wherever individual men are suffering from other men's cruelty and thoughtlessness. We hope our students never say let someone else do it,', or it's none of my busi- ness. If we have sensitivity to the needs of others, the welfare of others becomes our business. The habit of not caring is the easiest in the world to acquire. We hope our stu- dents cherish the best things that are, and that freedom, justice, courage, and compassion are high in their system of values. Father Shocklee Reverend John Shocklee Adminirtmtor

Sister Mary Martin, C.S.j'. Principal Dear Boys and Girls, This book is a record of many of the events in this year of your life, the picture story of you in your world of today. Each of you will read into these pages a different story, your own unique history, which is truly known only to you and to God, and very probably the story of this year will be characteristic of your future life. Let us hope, therefore, that this year you gained a greater knowledge and love of your vocation, your country, your fellowmen, and your God. By these standards you can measure the genuine success of your year. ln the name of all the faculty l congratulate you on the achievements recorded in this yearbook. We are proud of you and of your loyal spirit. Our fond hopes and prayers go with you for even greater success as tomorrow's horizon broadens. God bless you! Sister Mary Martin
