And justly so. Has not the small basement school of 1896, truly an humble beginning, given Way to a larger school in 1913, and then to the present day structure in 1928, which can justly boast of its 22 beautiful classrooms, its attractive auditorium, its modern, Well-equipped basement, with the many and very comfortable clubrooms? Pause but for a moment, turn back the pages of time, and read the interest- ing history of the schools progress and know that here you behold a history, which bespeaks credit to the Catholic Church and to the Catholics of this vicinity. 'Twas the year 1896 that marked the opening of the parish school. Ever mindful of the fact that the school ensures the life and success of a parish, the parishioners anticlpated with pleasure the coming of the Sisters. When the good Mother Mary Frances Siedliska, foundress of the Sisters of the Holy Fam- ily of Nazareth, sent a small band of Sisters to them, these honest, hard Working Poles gave them a cordial welcome. Encouraged by the good-will of these people, the Sisters commenced their Work, so full of sacrifices, with a light heart. ll 1946! St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish GOLDEN Juaiiii ning through the St, Stanislaus Kostka School sys- tem of learning was and is the effort: to build character, to check and correct wrong tendencies, to draw out and strengthen high aspirations, to instill noble ideas. ln fine, St. Stanislaus, in training its youth, prepares it for what one must do here below in order to attain the sublime end for which one was created. The goal set at St. Stanislaus was pleasing to God and the undertaking proved to be a great success. The school grew by leaps and bounds, thus making The Reverend lohn Pieniqzek and the Reverend Victor Kozlowski realize the urgent need of a larger school building. The year l927 saw the beginning of this project and l928 its realization. This 50-year span of time saw thousands of grad- uates departing from their Alma Mater to embrace various walks of life. The unstinted sacrifices of the Sisters also enkindled a greater love for God in some hearts and these heeded the call of their Maker by joining the ranks of the Missionaries, parish Priests and Sisters. Up to this date four mis- sionaries, some 20 priests and almost countless numbers of Sisters are the product of St. Stanislaus Kostka School. i896 , .V yyyg gg y y Although the new building consists of 22 class- rooms, these cannot accommodate all the studentsg therefore, the old school build.ng was converted into three kindergartens and one elementary grade. The remaining rooms became: a library and a museum, the alumni clubroom, a lounge for the members of the St. Aloysius Club and clubrooms lor various organizations. As the school grew, the number of Sisters in- creased to 24. Ever mindful of everyones welfare the Reverend loseph Studzinski proposed the build- ing of a new convent. H s dream and hope was soon realized and on November l5, l94O the con- vent was completed. On the 25th of the same month is was dedicated by the Reverend Anthony Mazurkiewicz, Provincial Superior of the Congrega- tion of the Mission, who was assisted by various other priests of that community. February 1946 saw the work completed when Mr. Marian Wno- rowski and his crew of painters added the last touches to this beautiful edifice. Today the two schools and the new convent stand out as great monuments of the parish, mark- ing out in giant strokes the motto All for the greater glory of God.
