The school, like the Egyptian bird which was reborn through its ashes, renews itself through its members, the students and faculty, through its activities, whether athletic or cultural, and through its liturgy in the liturgical movement. No matter what form the yearbook may as- sume, no matter what its contents or arrangement, each year there is, as in man and the cosmos, a period of renewal. St. Raymond's High School takes the Phoenix as the symbol of dynanism and hopes that what has gone before in its history does not remain as a slavish form of traditionalism to be imitated, but improves continually to meet the needsof young men in a world whirling forward. RT, REV, MSGR, GUSTAV SCHULTHEISS, P,A,, V,F, - PASTOR ST. RAYMOND'S PARISH High school years are ones of change and conquest, Young boys mature into young men and these men prepare to take their place in life, Their key to success is their high school diploma. Much work and sacrifice was necessary for the efforts to culminate in victory, Thus, we have chosen Jason as the model for our 1966 yearbook. Dedication Brother A. Kevin was more than an administrator, he was a guiding hand, a friend of the students. Anyone with a problem could go to Brother and discuss it with him. His philosophy might startle a few, but inevitably his uncanny wit would win you to his side. In the years to come we will continue to be thankful to Brother Kevin for his zeal and generosity during our years at St. Raymond's. W 5 X ,A J g,,2 L , Y X? He not only is an inspirational teacher but after school, he continues to lead in the extracurricular activities. His great sense of humor and his unselfish giving have made him a truly outstanding person. Mr. Patnosh will always be remembered when we think of the happy days of our high school years. , -4 --1-6E:.i5:' , Nw v X yz'Sx'N '- . This journey would prepare him for the trials and hazards he would meet as ruler and test his strength against others. He was to travel to a foreign country, a land unknown to him, and return with the treasured Golden Fleece. This prize would prove his ability to lead and his worthiness as a man. A high school senior is a person who has also taken a great journey and a great step forward in life. This journey, the four years of high school, prepares him for the time when he too steps forth to take his place in the world. ' The prrof of the completion of this journey is the student's diploma. It shows to a college or prospective employer, the applicant's worth and ability. Just as Jason reached his goal, so too we, the Seniors, have reached our goal. NICHOLAS A.
