ThroughouT The course of The year, secTion six has parTicipaTed in various acTiviTies boTh on weekends and weekday evenings. The mosT TrequenT acTiviTies were The dorm parTies which were usually given Tor no oTher reason Than The sake of having Tun. OT course There were special occasions Tor These such as birThdays and To honor religious holidays. Weekends were spenT on ouTings such as The visiTing of naTional landmarks and campoufs aT various campsiTes. During The monTh of March, The boarders who remained on cam- pus Tor The weekend were able To look forward To a SaTurday aTTer- noon in New Orleans Touring The French QuarTer and Then laTer Tak- ing in a movie. As The weaTher grew warmer, iT became possible To enjoy The ouT- doors. Twice our preTecT. BroTher Don. arranged weekend campouTs aT The sand piTs on Evans Creek. The highlighT oT The year was The Trip To Avery Island. There we spenT an enjoyable weekend swimming and exploring. SaTurday we some Ni i spenT The day guided by one of The workers Through The salT mines and laTer Through The Tabasco. This Trip was made possible Through The eTTorTs of The family of one of our dorm-maTes who is relaTed To The Avery Tamily. ln early May, BroTher once again organized anoTher weekend cam- pouT. This Time iT was a camp on The AmiTe River which was gener- ously lenT To us by The T. L. James Co. and The Spohrer Tamily. The group enioyed Themselves To The TullesT buT iT was noT unTil Monday ThaT They discovered The painful eTTecT of a severe sunburn. The lasT imporTanT dorm TuncTion was The cusTomary dorm picnic. This was held aT The Fairview STaTe Park in Madisonville. BroTher Don was unable To aTTend because of pressing work which had To be clone on The Conifer so BroTher Harold - assisTanT preTecT supervised This evenT. The parTy was a greaT success and we TeasTed on sTeaks eTc. The dorm has asked The auThors lourselvesl To exTend special Thanks To BroThers Don and Harold Tor making These nine monThs a Truly unTorgeTTable experience.
