NGVEMBE NAVIGATION flllie mission of SAINT l'A Isllfs November Division is to ensure thc ready, safe and efficient navigation of the ship to any portion of the earthls seas in which her presence may lie required. In order to accomplish this, the sixteen good men of the division are busy around the clock, fixing the shipls position by radar, electronic or visual means. Other functions in support of this vital mission include the continuous updating and correcting over l00 publications and over 2000 charts, and maintaining of exact time from radio and navigational chronometers. The Quartermasters are also charged with recording as an official record all significant events which affect SAINT PAUL, both routine and extraordinary. And finally during sea details and underway replenishments, when extra skill is needed at the helm, a Quartermaster is on station to do the job. Thus, to say that the 4'Fighting Saints' ship control has always been smart and seamanlilce is a credit to the men of November Division. n lil-l'l' lla val PSN: , S Sf'lIllIl'lI ,I. lfxliy' and I- -Dlfkens I I 'T B7 I I 'Q Heft to rightj 0.113 S. The pen is mightier than the swordf, or so thought Edward Bulwer-Lytton in 1839, and the fighting men of X-Ray Division will definitely agree. They battle daily, quill in hand, to meet the tidal wave of the departmentls paperwork. lt is their task to coordinate the administrative matters without which none of the operations of the ship could even get off the ground. The stalwarts of X-Ray are the Executive Officeris right hand men: the fellows that handle over 1000 personnel records, public affairs, religious activities, postal functions, education and training, ship's correspondence, discipline, printing, photography, ship's entertainment, special services, and legal matters. All these vital functions are accomplished plus standing eight hours of watch a day while on the Vietnam gunline. SN E. Kazmierczak, ENS W. Duncan, and YNC R. Myers. , 6 '-21 'Q V I L S ..-ra.
