We of SAINT PAUL are proud men. We are proud of our ship, the old salt of her class with seventeen years of continuous commissioned service. We are proud of our task as guardians of freedom. Finally, we are proud of the manner in which we perform our service to our nation and her allies. The cover bears four Japanese characters which mean Fair Seas and Smooth Sailing. lt is a description of the good fortune enjoyed by SAINT PAUL during the past year and an expression of our hopes for the future.
