555 The T967 edition of SAINT PAUL's cruise book is dedicated to the men of SAINT PAUL. There are 1200 of us who work at jobs ranging from the repair of radar equipment to the preparation of food. All of us work in order to keep SAINT PAUL on line, on time in her dual role as SEVENTH Fleet flagship and a battle-ready heavy cruiser. Our home is SAINT PAUL's home?-Yokosuka, Japan, For 788 men Yokosuka means home complete with wife and family. For the rest of us Japan is a temporary home while our families and loved ones remain in the United States -,f :- li-3fq?ef :fx 51113 s. Y Y

We of SAINT PAUL are proud men. We are proud of our ship, the old salt of her class with seventeen years of continuous commissioned service. We are proud of our task as guardians of freedom. Finally, we are proud of the manner in which we perform our service to our nation and her allies. The cover bears four Japanese characters which mean Fair Seas and Smooth Sailing. lt is a description of the good fortune enjoyed by SAINT PAUL during the past year and an expression of our hopes for the future.
