Pastor As you leave us, my dear Seniors, I think of your four years on good old Pius Street-your Sisters and Teachers, your Science Laboratories, your trips down over the hill with John Peschko to the 10th Street swimming hole , -your ear-bursting music at your dances, your scared faces during exam week, your formal composure in the deep, majestic old Church of St. Mi- chael's. I hear in the quiet of an August Night your cheerleaders practicing, the sweet tones of your Christmas Carols, and I see our boys covered with sweat and exhaustion on a locker room bench after losing a close Basketball Game. This truly is education-your heart, your emotions, your mind, your bodies. We are proud that St. Michael's High, like every Catholic Educational center in the world educates its youth to follow exactly the First Commandment: to love God with one's whole being, with all our strength, our minds, our bodies, our whole beings. lVlay it always be so with each of you! God be with you. Father John Patrick Moore, C.P., Pastor TAKING TIME OUT from his tedious schedule is Father John, our pastor, to discuss the current problems facing the teenagers of today. Included in this discussion are: R. Lupori, R. Yotz, L. Lupori, P. Walsh, E. Schanck, and P. Javorsky.

Bishop THE MOST REVEREND JOHN J. WRIGHT, S.T.D. Bishop John J. Wright, solemn and serious, stops for a moment of quiet prayer. He has many mixed emo- tions on the reformation of the Catholic Liturgy and of Catholic education taking place throughout the schools of Pitts- burgh. The Bishop acknowledges the great value of a Catholic education in todays world. Auxiliary Bishop School Superintendent THE MOST REVEREND JOHN B. McDOWELL, S.T.D. The Most Reverend John B. lVlc- Dowell, Superintendent of Catholic schools in the diocese of Pittsburgh, has played a great part in the advance- ment of the Parochial school system.

'Q IV. I have been with the class of 1969 since you were wee little Freshmen. I dare not write with any sense of pride, for like Father John we always feel that we have not done enough for you. What I mean is that looking back CTRY TO REMEMBER THAT DAY IN SEPTEIVIBERJ to 1965 onward to 1969 I think of our Religion Classes, our classes about God's message of Salvation in the Bible. Then I kind of switch my mind to all our teams, our coaches, our games, our uniforms. Finally, and most important, I shall always see you all kneeling before me in the Confessional, at the Communion Rail, ask- ing for God's blessing before all your games. On the light side there are the many times you brought us joy with your dramatic and artistic talents on the stage in the auditorium. In a word, we have tried to educate your whole person, your whole being, intellectually, physically, morally. May each of you forever bear the mark of that training, and give to God and to your country the fullness of service thru the fullness of your being. Father Peter O'Rourke, C.P., Assistant FATHER PETER CHARLES O'ROURKE, C.P. Assistant and Religious Instructor READ, READ, READ ! ! ! This is the theme Father Peter is trying to get across to these students, L. Rosenburger, S. Vale, D. Drapala, J. Froehlick, J. Ciechalski, and P. Redlinger, as he finds an interesting article in his favorite magazine.
