DEDICATIO Our Holy Father, Pope john Paul II, has declared this present year as a Marian Year. The purpose of this Marian Year is to seek Mary's guidance and intercession so that all of God's people nzight prepare themselves for the two thousandth anni- versary ofthe birth of jesus. Mary, in a singular way, is theforerunner of jesus. She preceded the son whom she would conceive by the power ofthe Holy Spirit. Mary is a model and standard by which we can judge our own lives. We as Maryites, follow Mary's example and we pattern our lives after her. As Chris- tian young ladies, we imitate her with re- spect and reverence and honor her under the title of Maris Stella the nanze given to our yearbook. In honor and praise we salute, Mary, Star ofthe Sea, and we dedicate our 1988 year- book to our beloved Mother Mary. This Symbol illustrates Mary's title, Star of the Sea, tMaris Sfellal.
