DICK TAYLOR ALL-WINCO SECOND TEAM ROY BENEFIEL ROY MADISON Roy Benefiel showed some stellar line play for the Martians throughout the entire season and was accorded due credit by being voted All-Winco honors. Freshmen gridsters. Taylor. Madison. Maguire, and Siebers are shining ex- amples of future strength for Lacey grid teams, having proved their worth to coach Chapman in the past season. Coach Hal Chapman led his charges to victory in their first practice games with teams from Fort Lewis but found the going rough when the Martians took there annual trip to Ore- gon to play Monmouth, Linfield. and Portland University. The Rangers returned home on the short end of the score but picked up in team play and proceeded to iron out early season kinks. Pacific Lutheran fell heir to defeat of improved traits as the St. Mar.tin ' s team caused the upset of league play in downing the Lutes. This year ' s team has the distinctibn of being the first casaba squad in the Winco League to take to the air. The team flew from Seattle to Spokane to keep their series with Whit- worth College. 25
