SCAMPERING SAINT FRANK SINCLAIR IS FIRST FOUR- YEAR LETTER WINNER IN FOOTBALL AT ST. MARTINS COLLEGE Frank Sinclair first arrived on Lacey scenes back in 1940 when he came to Washington from his Berkley, California home to play football for St. Martin ' s College under Homer Hein. Martian coach, and former Berkleyite. Frank started his college football career in a sensational manner by being nominated for honor- able-mention on the Little All-American and also receiving a spot on the All-Winco team. His next season with the Saints was much the same as his first season with the exception that the name of Sinclair received more and more attention throughout gridiron circles in the Northwest. It was during this season that Frank was leading kicker in the nation throughout most the season but he was not accorded the punt- ing honors due to a mixup in submitting statistics. In 1942 he played outstanding ball tor Jimmy Ennis ' pepper-pot team and found his mark as one of the better passers on the coast by chucking many TD passes to Fran Bacoka. Sinclair spent a tour of duty as a pilot during the war and returned to perform more football chores for St. Martin ' s College. Although hampered by injuries sus- tained in an airplane accident Frank still showed his usual good brand of ball as he played the title role in Hal Chapman ' s T-formation.
