A few days later the bells of St. joseph began to ring regularly to remind the people that the work of God goes on . . . that her priests are there to offer the Mass, to consecrate, and to absolve in the name of the Lord. Many significant changes were made in our school life because of the church fire. Our gym became a temporary church, and school and church became a single unit. Schedules were revised, new rooms and subjects called into service. The completion of the new St, Joseph Church in May, 1953, marks a crowning achievement for our pastor, his assistants, Father Walter J. Schaming and Father Herbert J. Cost, and the hardfworking parishioners of St. Joseph Parish.
