.fdcliuifiea What was it that every knight desired in life if not success in his efforts and salvation of his soul? He knew that salvation and success were mere vagaries if he did not persevere in his efforts: If it is worth doing, it is worth doing well! This axiom was the press- ing motive which prompted the knight's attitude of industry and enabled him to achieve his goal-knighthood, the epitome of virtue. Through diligence in our studies, We assure ourselves of a suc- cessful high school career while cultivating a habit which will serve as a force to direct our efforts towards God. The modern knight's ideal of being an influence for good is learned and practiced in our school work. Persistent effort now will give us the strength of char- acter needed in our adult life. Thus we learn that our task in the world need not be-probably will not be-something extraordinary. It is in doing ordinary things extraordinarily well that our souls are saved. 15
