This generation is thoughtful, involved If there be one flaw in man ' s nature against which this generation campaigns, it is apathy. Being involved has become our bag . Active members of organizations participate in club ac¬ tivities. Student Council members serve as the students ' elected governmental body. Concerned faculty members offer help and advice, and every student shows his concern when he applies him¬ self to his studies or tries to maintain the excellent reputation of our student body. 1) Pat Ruff waits for a ride and reflects on her day at SCHS. 2) Gunther Emiein, delivering a speech at the fall sports assembly, represents SCHS ' s involvement in world affairs. 3) Ida Ca- rionon and Nancy Bauman work together on assignments after a large-group testing session. 4) Richard Ford concentrates on the action on the field as he watches a football game from the press box. 5) Student Council members listen intently to speaker who holds the floor at council meeting. 6) Reid Bronson glances through a mag¬ azine while working on posters for FTA. 7

We have energy to spare This generation, with all its ideas and hopes to change our world, would wallow in uselessness without energy. Energy flows freely from this gener¬ ation. Combined with hope, it creates an undefeat- able characteristic of man that shows itself most boldly during our youth. Channeled into con¬ structive endeavor, it makes reality out of unreal goals. 1) Bob Davis and Dave Davis yell, SENIORS at one of the three publications assemblies in Septem¬ ber. 2) Mike Clark, Jim Lloyd, Ken Tipton, Bennie Myers, Paul Bekebrede, and Rick Adams work on ROTC ' s entry in the Homecoming float contest. 3) janita Tevis executes a not quite perfect somersault at the homecoming pep rally. 4) B-team cheer¬ leader Kathy Thoelke exhibits her cheering talents at the fall sports assembly. 5) juniors give seniors on the other end of the rope a workout as they pull on to victory. 6) Determination shows in Scott Moore ' s face as he pushes on at a cross country meet.
