ide Zrofkuzls .gifffe Sisfer . Dreaming is not a pastime reserved to the young alone, nor only to idealists. Everyone at some time withdraws from the real to find comfort in nebulous realms. Thus it was with our teachers, the Sisters of St. Benedict's. For many years they had been planning and hop- ing, dreaming and praying for the day when their new school, to advance the cause of Catholic education, would stand in St. Joseph's park. Through diligence and hard work this dream castle has commenced to become a down-to-earth one. On September 17, 1947, Mother Gertrude helped to break the ground. The work of construction had begun. To aid us in our attempt at earthly castle building for heavenly purposes, the Blessed Mother helped us celebrate the feast of her Assumption into heaven by graciously permitting the corner- stone laying on August 15, 1948. This milestone, a compliment of North Catholic to further the ideals of Catholic education, will be the fruit of many sacrifices of our Sisters, the Ben- edictines of Mount St. Mary. Dedication of the new academy marked a dream becoming a reality. Pray- ers had already laid an impregnable foundation for our blue-printed- dreams.
