Sophomore Class-Climbing with Colors Flying SOPHOMORF CLASS With the motto Keep On Keeping On , members of the sophomore class elected to manage their affairs of state Louanne Barberie, Rosemary Hunkele and Pauline Bradley. The former trembling freshmen had become poised sophomores. Under the patronage of the Blessed Virgin and with the aid of the home room teachers, Sr. Augusta and Sr. Berchman, the girls showed themselves willing to contribute their talents towards class projects. On September 17, they indulged in youthful frolic hy masquerading the 136 freshies in queer raiment and signs through St. joseph Park. 'lihe next liig yen- ture was the 'lCupid's Hop at Hotel Henry. Members of the sophomore drama- tics club spent weeks in preparing to present scenes from Shakespear's Merchant ol' Venice for the Parent Guild meeting in Dlanuary. They also prepared a spe- cial program in honor of St. Benedict which consisted of a panel discussion on, and sketches from, the life of the Saint. 'lihe sophs also devoted their energies to the various drives and the sale of chances which S. li. gk. sponsored during the course of the year. With one hall of their high school career completed, the girls eagerly await the honor of being upper elassmen. 29
