Sr. Aurelia and Sr. Hildegard supervised our homerooms. Despite obstruc- tions the class managed to reach its many goals in dramatics, forensics, and scholarship. To help promote the Community Fund drive we staged the .lunior Minstrel. C Rememher Gus Fairley's rendition of Chloe', and -lanie McNamara's jokes? P F J 'lihe class collect the biggest amount for the Building Campaign which the Sisters sponsored this year. YVe had the distinction of heing the lirst junior class to sponsor a prom. 'lihe Yulelog Ball at the VVilliam Penn will always remain a heautiful memory VVhewl Rea . . . . , enjoying lt, girls? Soma-hocly's eyes are e'1lll Our play, Beware of hlurderu added zest to the junior itiner- ary. Here again was history in the making for we were the first class to present a play outside of the school auditorium. Vlle staged it in Sam Hamilton Auditorium. . . . Thejewelofgreatprice SOPHOMORES Wlieii the opening bell called the students to order, We, as dreaming and scheming sophomores, were prepared to do great things. Under the sponsorship of Sr. Rosalia, Sr. Clementine, and Sr. Pauline, the three divisions combined to elect their officers, hlean Vllickline, Nlarcelline Darragh, and Ruth Urbanie. Our fever- ish preparations for initiation of the frosh was cooled by Sr. Regina, who, as principal, informed us that our ignominious schemes could not be carried out according to original plans. Crime never pays. Father Duenser was our retreat master and for three days all troubles were forgotten in prayer. A strange, quiet peace filled our hearts. bttxutn class class f-hohuml 'llhree cheers for tht Btnedictl Swinging into action, we sophs enjoyed the big Halloween Dance with North Catholic, the Biology field trip, and the visits to the luburcular Hospital and the Carnegie Museum. Among other happy memories of this year are the study periods under Sr. Geraldine, the religion classes with Sr. Barbara, and our Science Fairn display in the Social Room. Remember? Do you also remember the struggle all our teachers had to get us to chant? So, with ten months of ups and downs, June found us grown in wisdom, grace, and general poise. Had a nice vacation?,' Corridors resounded with our excited laughter and chatter as we exchanged greetings on Sept. 3. When the electric bell suddenly ended the confusion, forty-one of us found ourselves in Room 201 and forty-two, in Room 202 with Sr. Marcella and Sr. Louise as home room teachers. Soon, as se- date seniors, we marched to the chapel to assist at a Nlass of the Holy Ghost. The last year of our stay at S. B. A. had begun. As the days passed into weeks and the weeks into months we became aecustomed to Hrst lunch periods and choicest seats at assemblies. Besides working hard at our academic subjects, we ventured in many activities. Vile sponsored the Community Fund drive, and made the hrst dance of the year The Cranberry Jamn a huge successg through cooperative effort and splendid coaching of Miss YVingerter we won laurels through our class play, Wings of the Nlorningf' what fun we all had at the never-to-be-forgotten prom at Highland Country Club with Brad Hunt's musicg these ac- tivities promoted loyalty and happiness among us.
