Under the sponsorship of Sr. Rosalia, Sr. Clementine, and Sr. Pauline, the three divisions combined to elect their officers, hlean Vllickline, Nlarcelline Darragh, and Ruth Urbanie. Our fever- ish preparations for initiation of the frosh was cooled by Sr. Regina, who, as principal, informed us that our ignominious schemes could not be carried out according to original plans. Crime never pays. Father Duenser was our retreat master and for three days all troubles were forgotten in prayer. A strange, quiet peace filled our hearts. bttxutn class class f-hohuml 'llhree cheers for tht Btnedictl Swinging into action, we sophs enjoyed the big Halloween Dance with North Catholic, the Biology field trip, and the visits to the luburcular Hospital and the Carnegie Museum. Among other happy memories of this year are the study periods under Sr. Geraldine, the religion classes with Sr. Barbara, and our Science Fairn display in the Social Room. Remember? Do you also remember the struggle all our teachers had to get us to chant? So, with ten months of ups and downs, June found us grown in wisdom, grace, and general poise. In May we were given the special grace of a second re- treat, this time uncler the wise counsel of Fr. Norhert. Sr. Aurelia and Sr. Hildegard supervised our homerooms. Despite obstruc- tions the class managed to reach its many goals in dramatics, forensics, and scholarship. To help promote the Community Fund drive we staged the .lunior Minstrel. C Rememher Gus Fairley's rendition of Chloe', and -lanie McNamara's jokes? P F J 'lihe class collect the biggest amount for the Building Campaign which the Sisters sponsored this year. YVe had the distinction of heing the lirst junior class to sponsor a prom. Here again was history in the making for we were the first class to present a play outside of the school auditorium. Vlle staged it in Sam Hamilton Auditorium.
