. . . Thejewelofgreatprice SOPHOMORES Wlieii the opening bell called the students to order, We, as dreaming and scheming sophomores, were prepared to do great things. Under the sponsorship of Sr. Rosalia, Sr. Clementine, and Sr. Pauline, the three divisions combined to elect their officers, hlean Vllickline, Nlarcelline Darragh, and Ruth Urbanie. Our fever- ish preparations for initiation of the frosh was cooled by Sr. Regina, who, as principal, informed us that our ignominious schemes could not be carried out according to original plans. Crime never pays. Father Duenser was our retreat master and for three days all troubles were forgotten in prayer. A strange, quiet peace filled our hearts. bttxutn class class f-hohuml 'llhree cheers for tht Btnedictl Swinging into action, we sophs enjoyed the big Halloween Dance with North Catholic, the Biology field trip, and the visits to the luburcular Hospital and the Carnegie Museum. Among other happy memories of this year are the study periods under Sr. Geraldine, the religion classes with Sr. Barbara, and our Science Fairn display in the Social Room. Remember? Do you also remember the struggle all our teachers had to get us to chant? So, with ten months of ups and downs, June found us grown in wisdom, grace, and general poise.
