wziors resent U ifffe omeizn After Weeks of rehearsal under the expert direction of Miss lflizabeth K. Vllingerter, the juniors presented their class play, Little VVomen, on November 28 and 29. l.ouisa Xl. Alcott's inspiring story of the March family, their joys and sorrows, has been the favorite of every young girl since it was first published. ln the double cast, chosen by the directors, Dolores Reichle and Mary Jane Kearns played the lovable tom-boy jo, to the satisfaction of everyone. The role of the dainty, feminine, Meg, was enacted by Patricia Murphy and 'llrudy Hartung. The stubborn but lovable character of Amy was portrayed by Mary Zimmerman and Marcella Funk. Shirleen Lacher and Cecilia Schrey, as Beth, gave endearing performances. The role of Nlarmee was brought to life by Shirlee Becker and Rose Marie Brunner. Marion McMahon and Dolores lflias were splendid as Hannah. Sally Moffat, Amyls school chum was interpreted by Kathleen Breitenbach and Mary lfllen McLaughlin. Charlotte Cheetham was cast as Aunt Caroll. Madeline Porter's excellent portrayal of Aunt March will never be for- gotten. The surprise of the play was brought out by Patricia Rodgers, when she appeared as Mr. March. Oh Meg! Our creative young senior, Carol Reynolds, suggested a minstrel. But how, when, and where? 'lihrough the cooperation of the senior class a delightful and entertaining program was arranged and before one could say Jael: Robinson the curtain opened and the chords for the opening number were sounded. 'lihe end men's songs and jokes were typical of the southern minstrel. 'lihe ehorus was decorated with bright red hows and helped with the singing. The Dark 'liown Strutts.-r's Ball was rendered by Carol Reynolds, Xlargaret Stanley was love-sick by the llarx'est Hoon . Lorraine liriskey and Dolores Climber sang l,ittle David Play Un Your llarp . Dorothy Sehoenig and Betty hlane Schumacher rendered Rufus Rastis -lohnston l5roxx'n . 'lihe minstrel was a success and the lnfantile Paralysis Fund was also a sueeess. Say your prayers, sister' 'l'Hlf CURTAIN FALLS liver since we were freshmen, the class of 45 has been looking forward to the time when they would present their Senior Class Play. After three year's preparation, we were ready for that momentous occasion. However, there is more to presenting a successful play than appears on the surface. Since the class itself is fairly large, and the presentation of the senior play is such a tremendous piece of work, two casts were chosen. Kiffie gram s Xlany other difficulties had to be ironed out. Nliss Vllingerter, our very capable dramatic teacher, being familiar with some of these diffi- culties soon had things straightened out to the satisfaction of all. After much practice, studying of lines, and plenty of hard work, the girls seemed ready to decide upon the nights the play would run. Having considered many suggestions, the faculty finally settled that the play should run three night performances. 'lihese three nights were looked forward to with great anticipation by all the girls. What a thrill it was to hear the appreciative applause of the audience, to hear their joyous laughter which told us that the per- formance was a source of enjoyment for people with heavy hearts in these troubled times. Yes, this applause also gave us the answer we Wanted to hear ,our three act comedy, Tilly From Texas , was a great success. One cast of the Senior Class Play, Tilly From Texas
