If you chance to see a charming buyer in the handbag department of Jonassen's Depart- ment Store don't neglect to go up and say, hello, for she is no other than our lovable, red-headed, LaVerne Guckert. LaVerne has been married for a number of months, but she still enjoys her work, particularly since her husband is away fighting for his country. Mr. Buechele will never need to worry about files in his office becoming disorderly since Adelaide, his daughter, has now taken full responsibility of her father's office. Dorothy Knoebel, who graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, and later attended Law School at New York University is plan- ning to open her office in the Law and Finance Building in downtown Pittsburgh. If you happen to go into the War Depart- ment Personnel office, the charming recep- tionist that will greet you will be sweet Mar- garet Cheetham. Peggy's lovable personality always made her stand out, and that same personality is the main factor of her position. Everyone must admit that she is a great asset to any office. She wears a Pair of Silver Wings, is just what Marcella Thaner is doing since she grad- uated from Ellington Field, Texas, last month. In the near future Miss Thaner will see active service in some foreign country. After grad- uation she worked as secretary for an Insur- ance Company but finally succumbed into her childhood ambition to become a nurse. Due to the need of nurses she volunteered with the A. A. C. and likes it very well. Mary Lucille Connelly, Mary Hagan, Ce- cilia Kravich, and Ethel Kozler, garbed in the white frock common to the graduate nurse bend over pain ridden patients, rendering ease to aching bodies and comfort to troubled minds. Mary jean Steffl and Mary Agnes Butler matriculated in the Naval Nursing Corps and are now witnessing the horrors of war.
