Wings is a play about dreams. At the beginning, Papa and Mama Bird are about to send Junior out of the nest. He is Hying when Mama asks him if he remembered his sweater. Junior crashes. The next scenes deal with children growing up and having teachers, parents, and friends ruin their dreams. (The mask represents a dream destroyer. ) At the end of the play, there is another bird scene. This time the Papa is Junior (from Scene 1), and Baby is a girl. The scene is identical to Scene 1, but at the very end. Papa realizes what is happening and removes his mask, telling Baby to go after her dreams. Janet L. Werner is the director. TOP LEFT: The cast, directors, and lighting crew form a support group for one another on opening night. (The play missed going to the Districts by one point.) Bottom row: Stephanie Shannon, Olie Nowytski, and Hrytz Poletz. Row 2: Tom Troupe. Row 3: Amy Collins, Kirsten Kalthoff, Mollie Crosswhite, Student Director Chris Cowan, and Lighting Technician Eric Iverson. The Pops program consisted of seventeen presentations with refreshments intermission between. The director was Mr. Roger Bjorklund.
