The mourning rountine begins without you. What could I say and what could you do To stop the memories’ aching, hollow cry ... This time will pass, his memory last And again lie’ll be with you. deep inside. Todd Lawrence Forever lives today - The pain too great, the world too real. A hope for warmth was traded For a final touch of steel. Our finite mind's uncomprehending The bud that blows, the bloom that dies. Winter comes and in that instant You’re not there to hear our cries. We mourn the child, we cry our blindness. We weep for guidance now ... but then We are left in questioned stillness For the man that could have been. Only yesterdays are yours; Remembered time has stopped between The shortened years you spent beside us -Now forever seventeen.
