Speech Club Has State Entries The Speech Club had a very exciting and challenging year. We went to many practice meets at various schools, including Coon Rapids, Hill-Murray, Forest Lake, Stillwater, Tartan. Spring Lake Park, and Brainerd. At practice meets members perform speeches which fit under one of several topics, which include Humorous Interpretation, Serious Prose, Serious Interpretation, Poetry, Discussion, Storytelling Extemporaneous Reading, Original Oratory, Dramatic Interpretation, and Oratory. Several members went to higher competition. Mary Jo Studenberg (Extemp Reading of Poetry) and Steve Yurek (Serious Prose Interp) advanced to State competition in April. 1979 SPEECH CLUB.
