In the Spring of 1982, the Alumni Associ- ation andthe Student Government Associ- ation joined forces to sponsor a Mardi Gras Fundraiser on campus. The night's festivities included a buffet dinner, music, gambling, dancing, a silent auction, and just plain socializing. Ambrose students worked busily as waitresses, bartenders, and card dealers, using Billy Bucks fpic- tured abovej as the monetary denomina- tion. Prizes for the silent auction ranged from three credit hours at St. Ambrose College to a gourmet meal aboard a house- boat for twenty. The proceeds made were for the new athletic center to be built in the far corner of the campus.
